The CEREPS Summit 2026 (June 29 to July 1) was hosted by the Willibald Gebhardt Research Institute (WGI) in collaboration with the University of Münster, Department of Movement and Teaching, at the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science of the University of Münster (Germany). The President of WGI opened the Summit with a welcome address and a short welcome panel of other partners (CEREPS, Univ. of Münster, North-Rhine Westphalian  Research Network of Children and Youth Sport) and special guests (ICSSPE, State Chancellery of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, , Sport Confederation of the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, Meyer & Meyer Publishing House). At Münster, CEREPS celebrated its 10^th anniversary of Summits, a conference series which started in Luxembourg in 2016. The Münster Summit with the programme headline “Physical Education and Youth Sport at Schools and in Sport Clubs” was attended by more than 60 individuals form different fields in physical education and youth sport representing in total 19 European countries. The Summit was well organized at the Franz-Hitze-Haus Academy with an important subvention of the Mabruna Foundation, a foundation dedicated to education, physical activity and health for children and adolescence.

The structure of the Summit programme has had many facets: keynote presentations on the topic of the Summit by Bernhard Kalicki, German Youth Institute at Munich (“Growing up of children and adolescence with exercise, games, and sports”); Amika Singh from the Mulier-Instituut in the Netherlands (“Active schools, lifelong movement: Translating evidence into school practice”), and Kristy Howells from the University of Canterbury, Christ Church, UK (CHIME for childhood: UK and European perspectives on education, health and inclusion”). Two invited European symposia and one more invited lecture supplemented the impact of the keynoters: The President of the European Union of Physical Education Associations ()  (Avelino Azevedo) and two board members of EUPEA (Biljana Popeska, Nigel Green) documented the project of EUPEA about the conceptual frame and structure of “Quality Physical Education”. FIEPS, Federation International de Education Physique et Sportive ,another European umbrella organization, presented with their board members, Gabriela Luptakova and Branislav Antala (both from the Comenius University at Bratislava) highlighted teaching and research projects on “Tandem Teaching in Primary Physical Education” with evaluation data out of Slovakia and North Macedonia. Finally, Jacob Kornbeck from the Free University of Brussels (ULB) picked up the steps of development of the HEPA policy paradigm within the European Union in the first decades of the 21^st century (2000-2025).
